In this mega project, the International General Contractor company Técnicas Reunidas (TR) was selected by Tüpras, Turkey’s sole oil refiner and the largest industrial company of the country, to perform the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for the increasing of the conversion capacity of the Izmit refinery.
TR trusted in TAIM WESER for the supply of the petroleum coke handling equipment of the project. The equipment supplied by TAIM WESER is located in the Delayed coker main unit of the Refinery and consists of two high capacity and availability semi gantry pit/pad bucket cranes for fuel coke handling and a special design belt conveyor system.
The Challenge Achieved
All the project’s equipment were designed to work in highly aggressive environment, explosive atmosphere, with abrasive dust and in bad weather, so they are protected against heat, corrosion and dust, but also against explosive atmospheres according to the customer’s requirements.
