The company Novarka was selected by SSE Chernobyl NPP to lead the Chernobyl’s New Safe Confinement (NSC) project, in order to dismantle the old building and the reactor number 4 through the construction of a huge new, safe and permanent sarcophagus to avoid the leak of radioactive materials during the dismantle, treatment and storage of the contaminated materials.  

Novarka awarded to TAIM WESER the supply of an overhead crane for handle structure elements and move RAW containers, which are placed in a long term storage area of the new building.

The Challenge Achieved

This highly sophisticated crane is equipped with the most advanced safety elements and redundant main components, and it provides a total reliability as it works in a restricted access area, where the repairs and works are quite difficult.
