TAIM WESER, through its subsidiary company TAIM CADE DO BRASIL, was present at the International Mining Exhibition of Amazonia, EXPOSIBRAM Amazônia 2008 and at the First Mining Congress of Amazonia, held last November at the Hangar Convention and Trade Fair Center of Amazonia, located in Belém, the capital of the Brazilian State of Pará.
The company, a leader in the bulk materials handling sector, develops all kinds of products related to stockyard machinery, port terminals and bulk transportation systems, as well as a wide range of industrial turn-key projects, all of which feature state-of-the-art technology and rigorous quality standards.
During the Trade Show, TAIM WESER displayed its latest projects involving transportation and the handling and storage of minerals and solid bulks. At the 25 m2 stand, visitors were able to contemplate a large-sized situation map showing the projects developed in Brazil and in other South American countries, along with several panels of photographs of the different facilities. The exhibit also included an ample selection of pictures of projects that have been developed by the company in the bulk handling sector in other parts of the world.

TAIM WESER Projects in South America

TAIM WESER has a strong presence in the South American market, having developed numerous facilities in countries including Brazil, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Chile, Argentina and Venezuela, among others.
One of the most important projects the company currently has underway in South America is the outfitting of a mobile belt system and two mobile wheel stackers, each with a capacity of 1,000 t/h, for the Corumbá Mine expansion project in Brazil. With this ambitious project, the prestigious mining company, RIO TINTO, intends to multiply by six the annual capacity of the mine, from 2 million tons to 12.8 million tons by 2010.
Another project undertaken this year in the region by TAIM WESER, also for RIO TINTO, has been to supply a self-propelled mobile wheel loader, with a capacity of 2500 t/h, located at the Port of San Nicolás (Argentina), one of the most important port terminals in the Province of Buenos Aires.
Along other lines, TAIM WESER has recently been awarded a bid for a conveyor belt facility and a phosphate shiploader, with a capacity of 3500 t/h, for the Bayóver Port Terminal in Peru, a project that is being carried out by the Brazilian metals giant, VALE(CVRD), through its Peruvian subsidiary, MISKI MAYO.
